I'd like to introduce you to a friend of mine, Andrea Goddard. Blind since birth, Andrea is a fantastic little lady and pianist with a fantastic voice, and her debut CD is now available through LeWalt Publishing.

Classically trained at Linfield college (McMinnville, Oregon), Andrea toured internationally with the Linfield choir for four years. As she sings all 14 selections on her CD, her training was put to good use. Three are classically oriented, six others were composed by her, while the remaining pieces are an eclectic mix of pop, country, and bluegrass. To help round things out a bit, a friend of mine, Tyson Jones, plays fiddle, while I play banjo, mandolin, dobro, bass, and all guitars.

Arranged and performed on classical guitar in a non-intrusive manner, all 17 selections are suitable for background music or for meditation. "Streets of Laredo"

This is a collection of traditional Western favorites ranging from the mid-19th century to the near-present. Totaling over 54 minutes, Harold's new CD consists of a blend of instrumental forms played entirely in fingerstyle in a variety of tunings that not only captures the songs and sounds of the old West, but offers up a few new twists in Western songs from the 20th century as well.

In terms of song origins, many of the 17 songs featured on "Streets of Laredo" are like short American history lessons - all of which are expanded on in the liner notes. In addition to songs made famous by the Sons of the Pioneers and other relatively current artists, you'll hear many that were favorites of cowboys out on the range - including a few that may come as a surprise.
